I see your point, but I suspect that a sizeable portion of users might want a binary for older releases (esp. macOS) but lack the ability to build their own. I will add appropriate warning that these older releases include known security issues and that it is preferable to build the latest code to target their chosen OS release. Are comfortable with that?

The advantage of having a table in the FAQ (that I will take responsibility for updating prior to release) is to have all the info of the last binary with a given OS version support in one place.
