The relevant hook is actually "post-receive" which was
configured too, though.

For reasons that aren't clear to me (yet), the git jail
can't directly mail to the Mailman jail running on the
same host.

I've worked around the issue by forwarding the messages
through a different host for now and it appears to be working.
